Yoga Invitation for Optimal Health in the ‘burg with Tina and Laura
We invite you to join us in 2022 as we expand and embody our understanding of all the possibilities our yoga practice has to offer us.
B.K.S. Iyengar suggests that the practice of yoga teaches us to live fully in the physical and spiritual sense, while cultivating an expanded consciousness of loving, living, and healing in our everyday activities for ourselves and those around us. The practice of Yoga is a prescription for optimal health in body, mind, and spirit and can be life changing. When the yoga practice is crafted and implemented carefully, it is accessible to us all and can increase overall health, reduce stress, promote states of relaxation, improve balance, strengthen bones, promote flexibility, improve immune system, increase oxygen supply to tissues, lift mood, foster psychological equanimity, heighten sexual functioning and fulfillment, and promote spiritual well being.
Goals For Yoga For Optimal Health Include:
This practice will begin with gentle floor movements intended to create space in the back body and to bring awareness to the body's connective tissues. We will use props to more fully support the back body as we lengthen, strengthen, and ease tension in the back and surrounding areas. Restorative poses will be offered with enough time to facilitate a felt sense of ease and comfort, and to reduce fatigue. The sessions will conclude with pranayama (breath-work) and meditation. This practice is accessible for all levels, including those who have never tried yoga.
For questions, please contact Tina.

I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years. I am a certified Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and have participated in over 1000 hours of yoga teacher trainings. My original 200 hour teacher training was with Todd Norian, Ann Greene and Marsha Nieland in Anusara Yoga. On going studies have been in therapeutic yoga, sensory awareness training, and restorative yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, Tias Little of Prajna Yoga, Todd Norian of Ashaya Yoga and Linda Troutman of Head to Toe Yoga/ Prairie Yoga. I was certified in the advanced 500 hour teacher training program at Prairie Yoga Institute of Chicago in 2019 and continue to focus my studies in yoga and herbal therapy modalities.
